  • If an exemption is used, a student's semester grade will be calculated using the cumulative percentage of both quarters.
  • If a student failed or is failing either of the 9-week marking quarters in a particular content area (i.e. Science), the student is ineligible for an exam exemption for that particular content area and must take the exam.
  • Earned exam exemptions cannot be used on Advanced Placement courses.
  • Students under the age of 18 require parental consent in order to be exempt from a final exam.

If a student does not have their form signed and turned in by the deadline, they will be required to take their exam and will not be allowed to use the exemption at a later date.

Fines & Obligations

(You can check PowerSchool for your student's fee balance at any time)

There are two types of fines/obligations. Those that are course specific and those that are office specific.

  • If a student owes a course specific fine/obligation (i.e. a lost textbook for Biology or an unpaid course fee for Art), they will have to take that particular course's final exam during the alternate exam period, AND they will not be eligible for an exam exemption until the fee/obligation is paid.
  • If a student owes an office specific fine/obligation (i.e. registration fees, athletic uniforms not turned in, library fees greater than $2, or lunch fees greater than $5), they may take their final exams during the normal exam periods, but they will not be eligible to leave campus during study hall or other non-examination periods, AND they will not be eligible for applicable exam exemptions until the fine/obligation is paid.

Students eligible for exemptions will be bringing home a personalized sheet indicating eligibility.  In order to use the exemptions, that sheet must be signed by both parents and teachers and turned in NO LATER THAN Monday, January 12, 2026.

*Students will be informed via Homeroom teachers and daily announcements about eligibility forms.*
